The law, as WE ALL KNOW, as binding as it's REALLY NOT, was instituted BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE--THE VERY KEY WORD in THIS equasion, is "FOR." THAT'S the QUESTIONABLE word--"FOR" doesn't ALWAYS mean "IN FAVOR OF, BENEFICIALLY." "FOR" could VERY WELL favor the impending or current DETRAMENT OF THE PEOPLE--this is EXACTLY WHY the ability to JUDGE, ACCORDINGLY, as to how you'll do what you have to, DEFINITELY COMES IN HANDY. For example: abortion is LEGAL, even though it's WRONG; refusing two men or two women to marry each other would be considered ILLEGAL in U.S. locations that such would be, EVEN THOUGH it would be the RIGHT thing to do.
abaution isn't necessarily wrong? It depends on the circumstances. The question of things being wrong or right is a personal thing, therefore, how can one catagorise so simplistically.
Right and wrong are UNIVERSAL, NOT PERSONAL, of course, and there's NO EXCEPTION--abortion is MURDER--GOD, an HE, ALONE, is the ONLY ONE to decide when ANYONE should be born, and ... YOU know ... when ANYONE should (the word that I don't like) die.
well, I think your wrong. Of course some aspects of life are universally wrong in the grand skeme of things, rape, theft, adultery for example are all wrong in my opinion and in most of the populations opinion.
Abortion however is not one of these. Sometimes it is much kinder to the child to abort the pregnancy, such as in a case of severe disability for example. How can you justify putting a child through a lifetime of struggle, pain, distress, countless opperations and unendurable pain, when you have the oppertunity to prevent this from occuring.
I'm not saying my opinion is correct either, I'm just trying to make you see that your opinions are not universally right, or wrong. People differ, and you need to be a little more open minded.
If he wants to be technical though and is going by the universal aspect of things. Yes, gay marriage is illegal in the states, but, according to the bible, just like abortion, is also "wrong". so you might wanna give your universal theories some thought there.
I agree with andy saying that things being wrong or right is strictly based on personal moral values.
